BEREA MEMOIR MASTER CLASS REGISTRATION
Join literary journalist and memoirist Jason Howard for a master class in memoir at the Berea College Loyal Jones Appalachian Center on Saturday, 27 April 2013 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Through lecture, discussion and writing exercises, participants will focus on exploring the elements that go into crafting a literary memoir and identifying material to write vividly about the people, places and events that have shaped their lives.
Howard is the author of the recently released A Few Honest Words (The University Press of Kentucky, 2012), a collection of profiles of contemporary roots musicians. He is coauthor of the acclaimed Something’s Rising and editor of the anthology We All Live Downstream. His work has been widely anthologized, and his features, essays, reviews and commentary have appeared in the New York Times, the Nation, Sojourners, Equal Justice Magazine, the Louisville Review, on NPR and in the international magazine Revolve.
